Moving Communities Forward

Across South Africa, many ordinary people face daily challenges that limit their ability to live safely, access essential services, receive an education or earn an income.

Donsa Phambili is an Atlas Civils community upliftment initiative created to help deserving individuals, families, organisations and communities move forward.

About the Initiative

About Donsa Phambili

Donsa Phambili is a community upliftment initiative created by Atlas Civils.

Over a period of five years, Atlas Civils aims to donate 200 purpose-built units to deserving individuals, families, organisations and communities.

These units may be used as homes, classrooms, clinics, churches, community facilities, small business spaces and other practical solutions that can create long-term positive change.

The goal is not only to provide a structure. It is to help create opportunities for safety, dignity, education, healthcare, income generation and community development.

The Organisation Behind Donsa Phambili

Who Is Atlas Civils?

Atlas Civils is a South African company based in Dundee, Northern KwaZulu-Natal. We specialise in the refurbishment and conversion of shipping containers, modular buildings, rapid-build prefab solutions, steel structures and purpose-built facilities.

From our manufacturing premises, we create practical solutions for individuals, businesses, schools, churches, mines, healthcare providers and communities.

Our solutions include homes, classrooms, clinics, site offices, business containers, workshops, ablution facilities, community buildings and other structures designed for a specific purpose.

At Atlas Civils, we believe that a building should be more than steel, walls and a roof. The right structure can provide safety, dignity, education, healthcare, employment and an opportunity for someone to build a better future.

Donsa Phambili was created as part of our commitment to using our experience, skills and manufacturing capabilities to make a meaningful difference in the lives of ordinary people and communities.

The Challenges

Ordinary People Face Extraordinary Challenges

Families Without Suitable Housing

Many families live in unsafe, overcrowded or unsuitable conditions and need a secure place to call home.

Communities Without Classrooms

Children may have limited access to suitable learning spaces, making education more difficult.

Limited Access to Healthcare

Some communities are far from clinics and essential healthcare facilities.

Entrepreneurs Without Business Space

Hardworking people may have the skills and determination to earn an income but lack a suitable place from which to operate.

Communities Without Safe Facilities

Churches, support groups and community organisations may need safe spaces where people can meet, learn and support one another.

These challenges are real, but practical support can create lasting change. A single purpose-built unit can provide safety, opportunity and hope to many people.

Where We Can Help

One Practical Solution Can Change Many Lives

Housing Solutions

A secure unit can provide a family with a safer and more dignified place to live.

Classrooms

A purpose-built classroom can give children a safe and suitable place to learn.

Clinics and Healthcare Facilities

A clinic unit can help bring essential healthcare services closer to communities.

Small Business Units

A business unit can help an entrepreneur generate an income, support a family and possibly create employment.

Churches and Community Facilities

A safe community space can provide a place for worship, meetings, training, support programmes and community activities.

Sometimes one practical solution can change the future of an entire family or community.

Get Involved

Who Can Participate?

Anyone may participate in the Donsa Phambili initiative.

You may apply for yourself if you need assistance, or you may nominate another person, family, organisation or community that you believe deserves support.

You do not have to be the person who needs assistance. You can help by identifying someone in your community whose story deserves to be heard.

Apply for Yourself

Complete the official online form and explain your need, circumstances and how a purpose-built unit could make a difference.

Nominate Someone Else

Nominate a deserving person, family, organisation or community and explain why they should be considered.

Step by Step

How to Participate

1

Step 1: Visit the Official Page

Go to the official Donsa Phambili page on the Atlas Civils website.

2

Step 2: Read the Information

Read the full information and instructions about the initiative.

3

Step 3: Complete the Online Form

Complete the online application or nomination form carefully.

4

Step 4: Tell Their Story

Provide clear, honest and accurate information about the person, family, organisation or community being nominated.

The more complete and meaningful the information is, the easier it will be for the selection team to understand the need and the difference a donated unit could make.

More Nominations Can Help

Community Support Matters

When more people submit genuine nominations for the same deserving person, family, organisation or community, it shows that others recognise and support their need.

Receiving more genuine nominations may improve their chances of being noticed and considered during the selection process.

Encourage family members, friends, neighbours, colleagues, community leaders and other supporters to submit their own honest nominations through the official online form.

Each nomination should explain why the person, organisation or community deserves support and how the proposed solution could make a meaningful difference.

The more genuine community support a nominee receives, the stronger their story may become.
